Home Theater subwoofer problem?

I have an 8-inch Vector Research Bass8 home theater subwoofer, and it won’t turn on. I recently blew a fuse, so I replaced it. It instantly blew the new fuse, so I replaced it again. Didn’t blow. I used my sub for about 10 minutes, then it randomly shutoff out of no where. I checked my fuse to see if it was blown, nope. I have it hooked up to my computer, using RCA cords paired up with normal computer speakers, using a 3.5mm Y-Split audio jack to my headphones jack into my sound card. It also has a built in amp, which has a burning-like smell coming from it.

In conclusion, my sub won’t turn on, fuse isn’t blown, burning-like smell coming from the built in amp.

Does the power light even come on? You more than likely melted a wire somewhere. The subwoofer is shorting out somewhere inside the circuit board. The burning smell is too much electricity being passed through the wires, causing them to heat up and melt. When this hot wire touches another wire, it can cause a short. If you’re lucky, you may even get to see some of the infamous blue smoke.
