Panasonic Viera and Yamaha HDMI RX-V665BL and how they work together
Author: admin // Category: HDMI Home Theater
This is just a short video in response to a forum posting. Here you can see that the Panasonic’s Viera functionality with the Yamaha receivers with hdmi. I have a cheap little digital cam but I show how you can turn the receiver on via Viera, you can change the volume via Viera and when you turn off the TV it turns off the receiver automatically. FYI, when you turn on the tv and then you go into the Viera interface and select home theater output the receiver automatically picks up on that and changes the receiver to the correct input setting as it is turning on.

Oh I …

Oh I get it, yes it would be nice if the menu could overlay on the TV screen and it could tell you would mode it was in. You can press menu on the remote and it does bring up a Gray/White GUI but it takes over the screen. And the menu on screen will only come up when im in HDMI one, which is the out put to the tv. If i’m in any other output, I would have to switch to HDMI1 to see the onscreen menu..

@calibeach1 I …
@calibeach1 I understand what you are saying. I just wish it actually said DTS-ES or whatever its decoding on the screen. More for peace of mind than anything. You can also go through the menu and look and see exactly what your getting. Unless it’s through a PS3. Then it says something else ‘ i forget what ‘
